Favourite songs of 2018!

Hello beauties,

Today I am going to share with you my favourite tunes of 2018. I am a big music lover so this is a big deal to me, trust me there are so tunes!!

img_2222-1James Arthur – Empty Space

James has always been a favourite of mine and if you have followed my blog for a while you will know I adore him! Every song fails to disappoint. If you haven’t heard this yet – I highly recommend.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper – Shallow

This song… I cannot even explain. I freaking love it!!! I never knew Lady Gaga had a voice like that. I balled my eyes out listening to this, it was incredibly emotional and raw. I never saw the movie in the cinema as it wasn’t something I thought I would like however after hearing this song I’ve been looking all over and have pre-ordered the DVD. If anyone else loves this song let me know!!

Dalton Harris and James Arthur – The Power of Love

I first heard this song when Gabrielle Aplin covered a while ago, I was obsessed with her voice. Well anyways I hadn’t heard of the song in a while heard this on the X Factor final. I used to be very into the X Factor watching it every year however its become worse and worse throughout the years, becoming very fixed. In saying this I was routing or Dalton to win, who better for him to sing with than the man himself, James.

Eminem and Ed Sheeran – River

I know this wasn’t 2018 but I have been obsessed with it, a old school Eminem vibe with Ed Sheeran is what dreams are made of. I used to love all Eminems old tunes like Mockingbird, Stan, Beautiful, Lose Yourself, then his music began to change and left me missing the old style of music. BAMM, my dreams come true with this little number. Obsessed.

Anne-Marie – Perfect To Me

A feel good song, something to raise your self-esteem whilst making you feel brilliant. She’s Basically singing about how she isn’t perfect, explain all her flaws and how they make her perfect. If i’m having a low day then this is the track for me and possibly for you too. I love Anne-Marie she did a cover of dangerous women which I will never forget, I will link a cover for any Anne-Marie lovers!!

Thats my list complete, share you favourites below. Love Alex.xox

Exciting clothing HAUL!!

Hello beauties, today I have a haul for you. I probably shouldn’t of brought all this stuff however I did and I love it all. Right now I’m sitting all cosy, I got caught in the worst rain I’ve seen in ages! The point of me telling you this is that all my new clothes that I was wearing got drenched nevertheless they are currently drying on the radiator, it’s not all bad I have a bar of Oreo dairy milk-yumm yum.

The first item on my list of beautiful goodies is…

TIMBERLAND BOOTS, I bloody love them. I always um and ah about these as I adore them but the price tag hurts me. I would never be able to afford these alone so me and my boyfriend brought one shoe each. Worked out £65 each from office. It was the last pair and I think the women serving me wanted them as she seemed a bit annoyed that I was buying them…oops. I bet your thinking the colours a bit odd, I really love the colour it’s different to the classic Timberland boot colour whilst not being to bright. The colour works perfectly with most outfits, they are causing a few blisters but hopefully that subsides soon.

Next is a skirt from Topshop

i love Topshop clothing, I wouldn’t buy something that wasn’t in the sale though due to my tight budget being a student and all. This was £20 in the sale-I adore it. I find difficult to find skirts that fit around my bum and waist perfectly, but this skirt has a thumbs up from me. Plus it matches my next item.

I do have a obsession with this colour, I always tend to put my boyfriend in the direction of burgundy coloured clothes also, it’s great! These shoes were from New Look and cost £19 pound, what a bargain! I wanted a pair of heeled boots that were not too high for going out and nicer occasions as I am always in either converse, trainers or my new found love for my Timberland boots. I did have to size down in the shoes due to them not having my size however it was well worth it for these beauties.

I love this I think it’s great. I thought this would look so cute with a pair of boyfriend jeans or high waisted jeans I needed some more T-shirts. £5 a great price, plus I do love Harry Potter it reminds me of the Harry Potter puppet pals which is brilliant. That’s all from me(I may need to make a part 2) comment your thoughts and opinions below Lots of love Alex.xox

L’Oréal Paris Infallible TOTAL COVER foundation review

Hello beauts, my blog is back. To kick things off I am starting with a well overdue foundation review followed by a very exciting beauty and clothing haul tomorrow. So let’s get to the point the L’Oréal Infallible foundation..

Now first off the bottle is a yes from me, I definitely prefer plastic to glass foundation bottles. Yes glass is visually pleasing however is it worth the sudden rush of panic every time your bag of goods is dropped(plus if your clumsy like me-that’s often). I brought this after many good reviews it cost £9.99 from Superdrug on a 3for2 deal, because it was 3for2 I thought I would go all out and buy the L’Oréal beauty blender too-it wouldn’t feel right not too.

We will just ignore the upside down photo and the dirty beauty blender. The consistency for this product was a shock to me, it’s a thick mousse not in the slightest oily which is perfect for my acne prone skin. This applied smoothly, blendable and true to colour so there was no nasty surprises. Now this claims to be ‘total cover’ so it’s only right to talk about that, it’s BRILLIANT all the red blotches gone. Due to the consistency I expected a heavy feel but that wasn’t there, I forgot the foundation was there. I’ve tried many foundations and I actually gave up using it for a year due to not being able to find the perfect one for my difficult skin, and I bit the bullet and brought this beauty. My new makeup holy grail. L’Oréal Infallible.

That’s all from me beauts, leave below your comments and opinions on this foundation. 🙂

Things not to say to someone with a mental illness

Hello beauties, i love reading these types of posts as I can somewhat relate to them. So I thought I would share my opinions of ‘What not to say to someone with a mental illness’.

1. Your not OCD, people will OCD are clean.

This one just makes me laugh. OCD is no where near just being clean or neat, that’s only a small section of the disorder. OCD has many different sections such as checking, intrusive thoughts, magical thinking and many more.

2.  Stop taking your antidepressants, you will feel better

I really don’t like hearing this one as it makes the person feel ashamed of taking the medication.

3. Your such a emo

Self harm is a very complicated thing, people shouldn’t be defined by it and definitely not stereotyped by this. If you notice that someone is self harming, this is the worst thing to say.

4.  Just be happy, get out of bed and be happy

For some people the basic tasks of day to day life are too much.

5. Stop attention seeking

It’s a cry for help not attention seeking.

6. She did that because of her mental illness

Not everything someone does is a result of their mental illness.

7. I was depressed for a few days once, I know how you feel.

Simple answer. No you don’t

My Favourite Tunes Of The Month!

Hello beauties, today I will be sharing my favourite tunes of the month. Most people love music, I know I do it’s a huge part of my life, hopefully I can give you some musical inspiration through sharing my favourite tunes with you

1. Selena Gomez – It Anit Me

This song just makes me want to party! Definitely a mood booster. I always have a little party in my head when listening to this masterpiece of a song.

2. Julia Michaels – Issues

I heard this song from Elle B, she covered this on YouTube and it was Incredible, this girl is incredibly talented and extremely inspirational.

3. Alessia Cara – How Far I’ll Go

Yes it’s a Disney song! The new Disney film Moana, this song was played throughout and I can’t get enough of it. I must say it’s been on repeat on the bus a lot for me.

4. James Arthur – Finally

I followed him from the start and will continue to the end, I must say I do have kinda a HUGE crush on him. Love the new album but also love the older songs.

5. Sada Vidoo – The Winner Takes It All

A beautifully unique voice this women has. She was one the X Factor last year, a lot of people disliked her due to her doll like appearance however I loved it. Such a unique beauty.

6. Harry Styles – Sigh Of The Times

I wasn’t a fan of one direction apart from ‘THATS WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL’ because.. who doesn’t. This song.. I have no words just listen…

December Favourites!

Hello beauties,

Today I am going to be talking you through my December favourites. I’m going to be making a favourites post on the 1st of every month for you all, I hope you enjoy.

Let’s start off with beauty related things.

This is the Models Own powder eyeshadow in ‘white pearl’.

I love anything sparkly/shiny, that’s why I brought this shimmery shade.  I didn’t really use it however when all these highlighter trends starting coming about I thought, I could put this product to good use. This eyeshadow works as a perfect highlighter for me as I have a light skin tone, I use a tiny bit only on my Cupid’s bow and the inner corners of my eyes and use then Benefit high beam on my cheek bones plus under the brow bone as I don’t want to go to crazy with highlighter. I know that this is a eyeshadow but it doesn’t have any colour to it on my pale eyelids (for darker skin tones this would work perfectly as an eyeshadow) so I found a better use for it, to look like a shimmery princess.

This is a Barry M nail paint the colour doesn’t have a name but it is the clothes show special edition nail paint.

It really isn’t the season for nude nails, I probably should be keeping up with the seasons, winter (greens, burgundys, maroon) nope I have nude summer nails and I love them! This colour is a nude peachy pink colour and I haven’t stopped wearing it all of December, so it’s only right that this nail product deserved a place in my December favourites.

This is the Lee Stafford Big Texture SPRay.

I had never seen a hairspray/dry shampoo mashup before I recieving this for Christmas. I know I’m cheating I haven’t used this the whole month however I have used it every day since receiving it so I’m sure it’s allowed a place. It does exactly what the bottle says, gives oily hair a big textured boost, not to mention this smells incredible! This product doesn’t leave my hair with that grey tone that I get after using other dry shampoos and I think that’s what I love most about it.

Now on to non beauty favourites

James Arthur – BACK FROM THE EDGE.

I honestly don’t know how to start with this album, James has the most unique, mezmorisimg voice I have ever heard. I could listen to this man sing all day. He went through a rough patch and came back better than ever and I couldn’t be happier. I was routing for James from the beginning of his X Factor journey and was in tears with every performance, I even purchased his book -it was incredible! I’m such a fan girl. I even had a dream last night that James worked in ASDA and gave me his pen haha it was the weirdest thing but I was so happy in the dream to have the pen. My favourite song is ‘Finally ‘ it’s so beautiful and is so real, I tear up every time I listen. I can’t explain it too well just go have a listen to the song – you won’t regret it.

WISPA BISCUITS!

I’m not a fan of biscuits usally but these are amazing! The taste a little like ‘fabulous fingers’. My favourite chocolate ever made better, love it. I’ve eaten way to many of these.

Let me know your December favourites and if you love anything I have mentioned in this post. Free free to ask me any questions.

That’s all for now beauties,

Byeeee ❤️

Top songs to help you through a hard time!

Hello girlies,

So this is something a little bit different, but I feel it is nessercery – it’s simple really, I love to share my thoughts and feelings plus I love music. I don’t think I have ever mentioned this on my blog before but I am a music student so music is very close to my heart and helps me through tough times.

1. Lullaby – Nickleback LULLABY (link)

I love this song I really do, the lyrics are so deep and ,meaningful. I love this song because I can really relate to the words Chad is singing, and he’s singing about depression but in a positive way he’s explaining if your feeling low listen to the song (the lullaby )  I have to say it really does help cheer you up!

2. Fight Song – Rachael Platten FIGHT SONG (link)

Now this song is a little happier lyrically it’s about fighting through, taking back your life and being strong. The song itself makes you feel powerful when listening to it – a instant mood lifter! Weather it’s a hard day at work/school/uni or your sick or even your just feeling like you need some motivation, this is the song for you!

3. Recovery – James Arthur RECOVERY (link)

I love James Arthur, everything he sings means something and you can almost feel his pain due to the emotion in his voice when performing. This song is essentially about ‘recovery’ the lyrics read ‘in my recovery I’m a solider at war, I have broken down walls, I defined, I designed my recovery’. I think that pretty much explains it all. Your recovery from exams to eating disorders or depression. ‘I defined, I designed my recovery’ your in control.

4. F**k You – Lilly Allen F**K YOU (link)

This is pure genius. If someone has done something to get your down or your just not feeling people at this time – listen to this on repeat; it’s brilliant.

5. F**k You Right Back  F**K YOU RIGHT BACK (link)

The ultimate break up song, if your feeling guilty about a break up, your upset it ended or you broke up with someone because they weren’t who you thought.

Adiòs girlies ❤
